Savage Bees Meadery is a company born from the twin prongs of practicality and passion. Way back in 2014, our founders, who own and operate a commercial beekeeping operation, were looking for ways to utilize their excess honey to its fullest potential. They had been making mead at home for decades, and decided that they would love to do it commercially. They started purchasing equipment and getting all of the licensing together, and by 2016 they had a fully operational mead-making facility.

And there, the project stalled.

While the owners had the best of intentions, they just couldn't effectively split their time between both the beekeeping and mead-making. Eight years later, the meadery was still languishing and unused.

Then one day, in November 2024, fortune struck. They happened to get connected with someone who was both an experienced brewer, and a beekeeper. They finally had someone to run the meadery! We immediately got to work developing recipes and bringing the meadery up to modern brewhouse standards. Our first batch was started in January of 2025, and since then it has been a nonstop whirlwind of recipe development and production, with a huge amount of learning as we go.

There is no telling what the future will bring, but we hope you will be there with us every step of the way.

We take pride in our passion for mead-making. Each bottle is a demonstration of our dedication to quality, rooted in the heart of Eastern Oregon. At the end of the day, we are just here to have fun and make a product that we really enjoy. We hope you will too!
